Went here for the first time on Tuesday night around 8pm for dinner. The food was amazing! The steamed vegetable momos were incredible. You can taste the home made love and goodness! The Korean short ribs were delicious as well. The curry chicken had a perfect amount of kick to it. And to top it off we got the home made dessert of peach tart (or maybe cobbler - can't remember) and it was out of this world. Came with home made papaya and mango sorbet on the side. Was something you would expect in a top notch bakery. Still dreaming about it! Decor is modern, yet authentic and the staff was incredibly thoughtful and helpful. I will be back soon!

Though this place looks unassuming from the outside, the food tastes like it comes from a 4-star kitchen. It's hidden in a holdout of old north Boulder, for you who remember, was NBC (North Boulder Cafe) which occupied this spot for many years. (Don't worry, they remodeled it.)

They have a lunch buffet that's so amazing and tasty you'll forget that it's all vegetarian. It is Boulder, so vegans have options too. Despite being a lifelong carnivore, I can't get enough of this place.

I've been here for happy hour too and they have an interesting array of cocktails. While the price of dinner entrees would be about right for downtown, it seems a bit spendy for the space it occupies, yet when you factor in the craft and the love that went into the food which takes your body to that happy place, you'll realize it's worth it.

I live nearby and hope you'll go out of your way to patronize this place so I can enjoy it for many years to come.

Lovely place, lovely atmosphere, lovely food. Check it out.

I love this place. The owner, Takla, is warm and welcoming and he has made a great effort to provide fresh, creative, local food. Their recently created lunch buffet is always delicious and leaves me feeling energized whereas most Indian/Nepalese Buffets leave me with the feeling that I swallowed a large, oily boulder. I only wish that they were downtown so that more people could experience the wonder of this place!!!

What a nice alternative in north Boulder. Elegant Tibetan decor and good food made it easy to spend 3+ hours catching up with long time friends. We started with golden beet salad to share. Then the chicken curry, brick chicken, lamb monos and bone broth with tofu sliders. Each was simple, yet delicious. The brick chicken was our favorite. Check it out...

So torn here between a 3 and a 4 * - so 3.5, rounding to 4 because they were very nice.

My food here was good for everything except the banana bread type dessert, which we felt was barely edible.

The kimchi was very spicy, so be prepared for the heat to permeate the rest of your meal very quickly. The lamb momos were good, although I felt like the ratio of filling to casing was not well balanced. I really liked my spare ribs though and the flavor there was spot on.

Everyone was able to eat - the vegetarians, the allergy issue people, and the regular people. The cocktails were decent and the service friendly.

It was a bit loud and the service a bit slow, but for a long dinner with friends, it's a good place to come.

Tip: Waze doesn't know where it is, but it is ON Broadway proper, in a little parking lot off to the left.

I liked everything about this restaurant. The room is very attractive and comfortable. The service was friendly and professional. The menu was far deeper than I thought it would be (with an extensive cocktails section that looked fantastic!) They had a couple vegan options (not a ton, but vegans are used to just a few if any), and what I had was delicious. And my dining companion (non-vegan) enjoyed her meal as well. Definitely a little overpriced, but for an occasional outing, it was delightful.

Mandala is a welcomed escape from the usual choices in Boulder. I was looking to try something different and figured to give it a shot. Also, doesn't hurt that they offer a free appetizer (via Yelp) for checking in there.

Not a huge menu, but that's not necessarily a bad thing because they executed everything really well that we ordered...

Korean BBQ rib appetizer was very thin portions of meat with the bone in. It tasted really good but lost points for being very salty and not a lot of edible pieces of meat. It did come with kimchi and some kind of sauce - see pictures

Pork belly buns were on point

I had the curry and my wife had the brick chicken. Both were excellent and everything was very fresh tasting. The prices are a bit high for what it is, but for a local restaurant trying to carve out their niche in North Boulder, I have no problem paying a few extra dollars to support them.

We stopped by the carneceria (Mexican butchery) next door after dinner. Turned out to be a good stop to find authentic Mexican food items (chile peppers, meats, canned goods, etc) here...picked up a tortilla press and some Mexican candies my wife grew up having in El Paso lol

Terrific food and atmosphere. Family and I also went to the grand opening yesterday and enjoyed some delicious momos (meat dumplings) and Thukpa - a delicious noodle and meat dish w a little hot spice. If you are looking for a new place to eat in Boulder with great food and a festive atmosphere w passionate owners, you just found it. Family and I will definitely be repeat customers. In fact, I'll host client lunches or dinners at Mandala Infusion.

Enjoying my experience here. The space is so beautiful. The food is local, organic and fresh. I had the Bone Broth, Arugula Salad, Chicken Shapta and Potato Wedges. The chilli sauce is more than incredible. Words cannot describe the feelings I have from every bite. WOW!!!

Went to check out their recently started lunch buffet (Mon-Fri, 11-2). Tasty and healthy food: they had a red lentil soup, plus rice and two hot entrees (vegan curry and chickpea/spinach when we were there), and a pasta bake. Plus 3-4 cold salads, and fruit salad and cookie bars for dessert. For $12 you want to eat as much as you can, and it was definitely worth it.

This restuarant is owned by my friend and he makes a great food. I eat there regularly and love the place.

The food here is so so good! And the quality is top notch. These guys put a lot of effort in to sourcing really quality fresh ingredients and it shows. The chef is super creative and flavors are amazing. They have a fabulous happy hour every day - cant miss the short ribs!!!!! And when you have a noodle soup craving, you can't go wrong with the thukpa with pork belly... with homemade bone broth no less... heaven. I also love the care put in to every corner of the place - beautiful artwork, the prayer wheel.

Organic, warm and inviting, kid friendly, happy hour deals and outstanding quality food. We went on a weekday for happy hour with two toddlers and sat on the (perfect for kid) floor tables... had the lamb momos, chicken curry and short rib. The kids tried and loved everything. Outstanding.

Great great food...I'm very hard to impress when it comes to chicken because most places don't get it right. But this place has the best chicken I've ever had. Any one of their chicken dishes is to die for you won't regret it. Customer service is top notch as well and that's the reason why I keep going back.

If you are looking for a full culinary experience this is the place to eat at. We ordered almost every item under their "small dishes" menu and each of those dishes were amazingly delicious.
The service was top notch. And the ambience is relaxing and beautiful.
    Give it a try!

Yum! I love the healthy and local ingredients. We ordered the thukpa soup and lamb curry. Such rich and yummy flavors. The service was great and the atmosphere is charming. We will be going back.

If you haven't yet tried this hidden gem, DO IT!! You'd never know from the outside, but it's a very cute modern interior with lovely staff and yummy food! They cater to GF DF needs and everything we've tried is good. They also have a great bar if you just want a cocktail. Tonight I brought 4 friends and they all said they'd definitely come back. The moms and falafels are awesome appetizers and the curry is very unique and good.

Both my partner and myself devoured everything we ate. Menu is limited so we tried almost everything. Like most ethnic specialty restaurants you would have to be in the mood. However the dishes were deliciously complex and I am eager to eat here again. Also the decor inside is absolutely gorgeous. (If you ever ate at NBC, which used to be at this location you'd never believe the elegance!) there was some loud music going on so we ate outside. Hosts/ servers were incredibly gracious. My only little complaint was alcohol was limited and didn't really pair well with the food. Restaurant was still pretty new so maybe bar has improved.

Had brunch here last Sunday, January 9th. Great English breakfast with some Tibetan twists. Can't wait to go back to try their dinner menu!

  • *****

I would call this a Tibetan-American fusion restaurant that seeks to showcase fresh local produce/meat with a tibetan cooking style. They are somewhat pricey for Tibetan food, but about par for local/organic/responsibly sourced eats. Their menu is dynamic and seasonal. Their menu showcases a modest selection of absolutely delicious looking dishes. We had lamb momos and curry, both were very tasty and left us wanting more.

  • *****

Wonderful food! We enjoyed each dish. The flavors were complex and the menu was not a bit intimidating. I recommend the Brick Chicken and Lamb Curry. The service was very friendly and attentive. In addition to the restaurant seating there is a quaint bar, a sunny patio and a community table. We had a great experience on a Saturday night. There was live music!

Just had an amazing dinner at Mandala Infusion! What a great surprise for the nobo strip mall location it's in. Inside, the place is very modern/comfortable. nothing like you'd expect. The rose kombucha is some of the best I've ever had. My friend's hibiscus tea was yummy - like drinking tart cherry tea. For dinner, the vegetarian momos melt in your mouth. We got pan fried and they were so good. The vegetarian autumnal curry was good but somewhat small portion of veggies compared to the rice. Next time, for the price, I'd get one of the chicken dishes. My friend had the chicken curry and it was so much tasty food.
Our server Alex was excellent! The owner is super sweet.
We'll try Brunch next time. Healthy bloody Mary's and the menu looks good.
Give it a try. Take out too. This will become a staple for us.

We came on a night when DyD was playing live guitar music. It was awesome. Food is delicious. Service great. Atmosphere lovely. It's become my favorite Boulder restaurant.

I had an good dinner experience here. ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere was nice with nonintrusive music and appropriate decorations. FOOD: I started off with tahini and fallafel, which came on a bed of arugula and pickled onion. The tahini was tasty and the fallafel light and crispy. I also had the vegetable momos, which were savory and had a nice crispy side to them since I got them pan fried. Nearly the best part of the momo was the delicious sauce that was placed on the table to eat with them. The red sauce brought out the flavor of the momo and paired excellently with them. As an entree I got the pork belly thukpa. Thukpa is a bowl of bone broth with vegetables, rice noodles, and your choice of meat. There is also a vegetarian option that my friend got, which was also tasty. I ate my entire bowl of thukpa, the flavors were more subtle then I expected but not any the less tasty. SERVICE: Service was quick and our water was always refilled quickly. My friend got wine and when his glass was finished, a waiter appeared to see if he wanted another. The service was always there to support you but were not overbearing. CONCLUSION I would recommend Mendala Infusion! Give it a try and listen to what the waiters have to say for recommendations. You will not be disappointed.

Food is good, but a little pricey given the amount.

This place is bistro style dinning, perfect for date night! Or maybe just grabbing a drink and some small plates! The happy hour is unbeatable. The food is made with local, organic, and quality ingredients, not to mention love! I'm happy to support this small business!

Absolutely amazing food with exquisite flavor and texture. The owners and staff are lovely. We were a large group and we all had a great experience!

We had our first experience at Mandala Infusion Oct 3. The mahi-mahi was outstanding, perfectly cooked and delicious. We also ordered the lamb momos--yum. Service was impeccable and we thought the ambiance was perfect. Truly a different take on Nepalese cuisine. Highly recommend it but don't expect the traditional Nepalese menu. Will be back again soon

What a tranquil place! The whole atmosphere breathes serenity. The decor is low-key except for the brilliant red and gold Tibetan prayer wheel in the entryway. There are low tables with seating on carpets for groups of 6 or more, table/booth seating, and a bar. Soft, soothing music made it easy to have conversation. The owner and all of the cooks are from Tibet.

The lunch menu has a fairly good variety of dishes. We shared the Tibetan ribeye sandwich, which came on house-made bread with thick potato wedges fried to perfection, au jus sauce, and Mandala sauce which is a delicious thick tomato-based sort of tapenade, and an order of eight lamb momos with arugula and pickled garnishes. They come fried or steamed; we had fried. The ribeye sandwich was very good, the potatoes were excellent, and the little momos were awesome. The lamb mixture had a wonderful, gentle flavor. The assam tea was very good as well.

My husband and I ate at this lovely little restaurant for the first time last night after a raving recommendation from some friends. The "shopping center" in which it's nestled is in stark contrast to the modern and tasteful interior of the restaurant so don't let that be a deterrent. We sat at the bar for our meal and had a great time talking with the owner and general manager who gave us samples of elixirs and told us about their local food sources. They even grow their own herbs in a garden behind the restaurant.

The food itself is absolutely delicious with a small menu heavy in lamb offerings but with something for everyone. I ate every bite of my brick chicken and my husband quickly got to the bottom of his bowl of tripe stew. We also enjoyed the drink menu with its extensive variety of wines, beers, brews and elixirs.

Mandala is a perfect spot for a date although they could do without the heavy spiritual trance music belting out of the overhead speakers. The interior is already lovely and trendy with its Tibetan decor and the cheesy trance music is overkill. The main dining room is cozy with low tables over rugs for guests who want to sit on the floor as well as tables with chairs, and the outdoor patio is also a great to place to dine this time of year. The bar area has a lighter vibe and is a perfect place to drink and dine with friends. We had a great time on our first visit, and we'll definitely return to this little gem in the heart of North Boulder!

Great new spot! 4 stars only because our soup was bland. Could use flavor. Everything else was awesome. The waitress was the best and very attentive.

Just ate here with my 3 year old and 1 year old and it was great. The food was awesome (got the chicken and salmon). We went kinda early right around 5 so it wasn't so busy with the kids and the service was great. The atmosphere was very peaceful and there's a cute vegetable garden in the back you can look around at. We will definitely be back.

Delicious momos made to order. The brick chicken is a must. Tibetan owned and run . Chill atmosphere and great wine menu. Great food cooked with love. Can't understand the two unkind reviews that were left by Lee D and Sara W. other than some typical entitled Boulder BS.

  • *****

Hot and new for good reason. It is a treat to have a Tibetan restaurant with ambiance and a great wine list. Try the Thukpa -- delicious and craveable. Its neighbors are a bit funky and the patio overlooks the parking lot so I think the inside has more appeal than outside. Go!

Near our house and was in the mood to try something new. All the reviews sounded great so we tried it out. Loved it!

We end on a Sunday and it wasn't crowded at all. The inside has a good vibe to it with cool decor. We ordered the vegetable momos as an appetizer and the brick chicken for an entree since everyone seemed to love it in the reviews.

The momos were ok, but lacked a strong flavor. Compared to the brick chicken, which was delicious and had a ton of flavor, we were a little disappointed in the momos. I would maybe try the lamb ones next time.

The brick chicken was great, good flavor all around. The sauce they give you on the side is delicious. Overall a great dish.

Staff was super nice. It took maybe a little longer to get our food than I expected, but that's just me being picky.

We will definitely be going back for more.

I'm a big fan of traditional Himalayan cuisine, so I had to see what creative spins they made on dishes. I ordered the watermelon curry and wow, it was damn near perfection. Rich, warming curry over fragrant rice and grilled fruits and vegetables. Hats off to the chef!

As a whole, everything on the menu sounds great! They emphasize on local and organic and I'll definitely be back.

Besides the food, the atmosphere and staff were terrific; relaxed vibe, good background music, and friendly, attentive staff.

MY LUNCH VISIT: I was just there this past Thursday with a friend. It was the first time for the both of us. Mandala Infusion ("MI") is by far the best over the past few places that were there before then. I believe it's because of the ethnic food, their international style and a change in what we've been so used to. MI is going to do great! The interior is inviting and relaxing. There are a few lower tables where customers can eat while sitting directly on the floor - shoes off? :/ The Downfall(s): 1. Our "pho-like" soup was very bland and could have used some salt or spices. Other than that, it was fantastic. My friend and I thought the same thing about the soup but we didn't want to speak up since our waitress was so dang friendly and sweet. She's a Mandala keeper but the soup really did need some taste! I'll be back for it again! And, 2. I personally feel the large yellow wall that sides by the lowered tables should have more color. Perhaps more art or artwork to hang? The idea of sitting on the floor is what I suspect locals will love. Its different.... But we still want to feel comfortable, relaxed and invited. Cozy is the best! Enjoy and I'll be back again for the soup and that killer coffee!

Wow! Really good. I was expecting another knock off Tibetan restaurant, but this place is so much more. The gazpacho was the best I've had outside of Andalusia. It's simply amazing and if you only order one thing here, it has to be the gazpacho.

  • *****

A nice tibetan fusion restaurant in a quiet neighborhood. It provides authentic tibetan food with a twist, exquisite authentic momos, and a surprisingly good rib sandwich which incorporates fresh tibetan balep with steak and potato wedges which are fresh and delicious. Along with the wonderful food it has a diverse drink menu with a kombucha which is a must try. Overall I recommend this restaurant for everyone even if you are not familiar with the cuisine you must try.

I really enjoyed having my event at Mandala Infusion! The cocktails were refreshing and interesting. The patio was great for 25-35 people and the option for indoor traditional seating was charming. Will go back for sure!

I work just up the street and we decided to try something different for lunch. I'm a vegetarian, and thankfully they have several items on the lunch menu. I ordered the Veggie Momos, they were delicious! I plan on coming back to try the Watermelon Curry!

    Also, the service was great!

What an amazing atmosphere and authentic food! I do highly recommend it.

Excellent food! The salmon was amazing and the lamb momos were perfect. The music selection was great and the atmosphere felt very comfortable and authentic. Our server was super knowledgeable as well.

    Mandala Infusion
    What a delicious dinner!
Really yummy Mandala Elixir, a mix of flowers berries, licorice & mushroom

Brick Chicken was done perfectly and served with grilled squash, beets & potatoes with a delicious jus & a dipping sauce that I could have eaten all by itself! Great music & very nice staff! Coming back ASAP! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Pretty sure I've never had Tibetan food before and don't know what a momo is, but decided to try this place on a whim when I was driving by and holy cow it's delicious!! Very nice atmosphere, excellent service and great food. They have actual wild salmon from Alaska - all very high quality ingredients and fair prices. Don't let the location deter you from trying this place.

Update: just had dinner here again and they messed up my order but comped the entire meal! Although the service isn't perfectly smooth, they are unbelievably nice and really care about customer satisfaction - I'm so impressed! It's a very casual environment - come as you are. Oh and the food was absolutely delicious and the drinks are great also. Love this new addition to the Boulder scene!

  • *****

A friend and I are visiting from Austin and we've already asked the owner to open a second location there!

Order the veggie momos and the brick chicken. Split both for a substantive, good portioned meal for two. We were so impressed we ordered the lamb momos "for dessert"! The menu also had extensive wine, cocktail, and tea list. The (actual) desserts looked fabulous!

The food was clearly fresh. The space has stunning hand painted artwork on the walls and multiple seating areas: an indoor/outdoor counter bar, a tall communal table, cafe tables, and low seating.

In one word: Details. The details were taken care of! The staff was beautifully dressed. Things like that caught our eye. It was only after our meal we learned the venue was only open one month!

We may eat every dinner here during our trip - it's one of those places you'll want to try the whole menu. :)

  • *****

Excellent food and beautiful, peaceful atmosphere inside. The wait staff was also great. Highly recommended!

Such a great addition to Boulder! Killer lamb momos. Tibetan prime rib is a must. Super nice folks, too.

  • *****

Tasty Tibetan options including vegetarian and gluten-free. Friendly staff and nice choices on the drink menu. Price-wise, it's a little more than average, but high quality food in a nice atmosphere never comes cheap in Boulder.

  • *****

The momos here are amazing. The dough seems to be homemade and has the right layer of thickness which keeps the meat inside juicy and delicious! I personally think they have the most authentic Tibetan momos in Boulder! Their prime rib sandwich and arugula salad also got some great responses from our group! I can't wait to come back to try the rest of their menu (and of course for more momos!) :D

  • *****

Well crafted cocktails, great salads, momos (dumplings) are great. The food menu is a page and the alcoholic drinks are on the back. All in all amazing experience and highly recommended.

  • *****

Absolutely wonderful! Came for the grand opening- prime rib sandwich was great, tender and spiced just right. Lamb was great. Service was friendly. I heard lots of talk about the chocolate cake being amazing, I didn't divulge because I was full. This place is a must try!

  • *****

The food here is delicious. I am very excited about the momos. Usually genuine Tibetan Amdo style momos are hard to come by and restaurants serve something closer to gyoza or wontons instead. The momos here are rolled with fresh dough which provides better texture and thickness which encases more juice during cooking.
I m so excited to eat these I forgot to get a photo for review, twice.
I am brining my friends here and I recommend it to anyone who likes Tibetan food.
